The inspector reports FICORA whether a television set has been used by the household or company without a television notification.
FICORA makes the decisions on sanctions on the basis of the inspector's report. If a decision to pay the sanction is given, it does not automatically mean that the notification has been neglected on purpose.
If something remained unclear at the inspection, FICORA gives the customer an opportunity to be heard before the final decision.
FICORA will order a statutory inspection fee of 100 euros if a television set is used without a television notification.

Low usage is not accepted as a reason. The payment is ordered whenever the television set has also previously been used without submitting the television notification.
FICORA collects a retrospective television fee for the period during which the television set has been used without submitting the television notification.
A double, retrospective fee can be collected for a maximum of one year. The minimum amount of a fee is 60 euros.
FICORA sends the decisions, inspection fee invoices and retrospective television fees to the concerned party by mail. The same letter will include advice for making an appeal or claim for rectification.
The customer is expected to have received the decisions within a week from the day they were posted, after which the appeal period is 30 days.
The decision on the inspection fee can be appealed to regional Administrative Courts in writing.
The decision on the retrospective fee must first be appealed to FICORA in writing. If the response given is unsatisfactory, it can be appealed to regional Administrative Courts in writing.
