Television fee is worth every cent

The government platform suggests abandonment of television fees. The obligation to pay the television fee continues for the time being in accordance with the current legislation.

When the current obligation to pay expires FICORA will terminate television fees automatically. The change will be announced separately later.

The television fee must always be paid when you can receive and watch television transmissions. These pages will help you find information on the television fee, when you have to pay it and what you get for it.

When you start using a television set, you must notify FICORA of it. On the basis of the notification, the authority will send a television fee invoice to the television user.

European model for television operations

FICORA collects television fees for the State Television and Radio Fund to be further used to finance the operations of the Finnish Broadcasting Company.

Also, all other Nordic countries and nearly all western European countries finance public radio and television services by television fees.

In Finland, the number of television notifications is currently about two million.
